The Dance Complex is offering internship opportunities for college, graduate students and young professionals seeking experience in non-profit administration, artistic administration, development, events, marketing, and dance studio and theatre producing and operations.

The Dance Complex provides the experience of working in a unique environment where a diverse dance community has thrived for over 20 years. Sixty teaching artists share their artistry in this historic building, housing 6 studios and a small theatre. Class offerings include the widest range of dance genres, attracting all ages and all intents around the creation, study and performing of dance.

Interns have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge of arts management and the role of arts in the community at large through a creative administrative model allowing artistic practice and the administration of the “business” of dance as closely aligned complements. In addition to completing work for the organization, Interns will spend one third of their internship time creating, developing and implementing an independent project that furthers the mission of The Dance Complex.

Interns would have the benefit of free classes and studio space at The Dance Complex.

Applicants for The Dance Complex Internship Program should:

  • have completed at least two years of college;
  • be available for a minimum of twelve hours per week;
  • possess strong written and verbal skills;
  • be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs;
  • have excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and able to perform well in a quickly shifting environment

Applications are accepted for the following internship cycles on a rolling basis:

  • Winter: January - May**

The Dance Complex is offering a specialized internship in program administration. Each year the DC offers 2 seasonal dance festivals to enhance the educational, performative, intellectual and exploratory experience for dancers in the Boston area and beyond. This position is geared towards the students or young professionals seeking experience in non-profit administration, artistic administration, development, events, marketing, and dance studio and theatre producing and operations with a particular interest in assisting in the coordination of the DC’s festivals.

The Dance Complex provides the experience of working in a unique environment where a diverse dance community has thrived for over 20 years. Sixty teaching artists share their artistry in this historic building, housing 6 studios and a small theatre. Class offerings include the widest range of dance genres, attracting all ages and all intents around the creation, study and performing of dance.

Interns would have the benefit of free classes and studio space at The Dance Complex as well as free festival participation.

Applicants for The Dance Complex Internship Program should:

  • have completed at least two years of college;
  • be available for a minimum of twelve hours per week;
  • possess strong written and verbal skills;
  • be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs;
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • be highly organized;
  • possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and able to perform well in a quickly shifting environment
