ANNOUNCING: Artist Rental Relief Fund

Dear Dance Complex Community Member,

The Dance Complex is looking forward to the day when our teaching artists and dancemakers can return to our studios to teach and create. Without the use of our studios, our teaching artists are without income; and the artists who use studios for creative work do not have access to them.

In our unique artist-centric business model, this means teaching artists can rent studio space for a flat under-market rate from us, and reap the benefits of keeping all students’ participation fees. We ask that class fees are kept lower than market rate to pass along the savings to the 1500+ students who join us weekly from all corners of the metro region including Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Western Mass.

To help ease our dance artists’ reentry into The Dance Complex, we are establishing an Artist Rental Relief Fund. Monies donated toward the fund between now and June 30th, 2020, will help artists directly by paying a portion of their rent. We seek to raise a minimum of $10,000, as this would have a meaningful impact on any percentage of the 50 teaching artists who are in need. Priority will be given to the teaching artists with whom we have a longstanding relationship with and who have expressed need.

Ways to make a donation today:

Through our website www.dancecomplex.org/give and look for the link to the Artist Rental Relief Fund.

Due to the high costs of merchant processing, we ask that the minimum online donation be $50

For smaller amounts, please send your donation via check to: The Dance Complex, 536 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02139. Please note on your gift that it is for the “Artists Rental Relief Fund.” We are regularly checking the mail.

The Annual Giving Fund at The Dance Complex

For those who wish to contribute to the ongoing Annual Giving Fund at The Dance Complex at this time, you may do so through any of the means listed above. Your support for the many facets of how we serve dance- its practitioners, its artists, and its audiences – is necessary and vitally needed.

Eighty-four cents of every dollar donated goes directly to artists and artistic programming – our impact is great, our mission is focused. You can make a difference with your donation.

We are deeply grateful for your continued support of our Artists and The Dance Complex Community. We look forward to having you join us in our beloved building as soon as possible.

Wishing you and your family well,

Peter DiMuro

Executive Artistic Director
