Join The Dance Complex’s Communications Director Kledia Spiro as she interviews Dance Complex community members. This week she is joined by internationally renowned flamenco teacher/dancer/choreographer Isaac De Los Reyes.

Patrick’s fire is contagious. If you want to learn how to dance, sweat, and light up your inner star – this is the class for you! Patrick pushes his students to own their inner strength and understand their inner grooves.

WEDNESDAY 5/27

Fireside Chats with Peter: featuring Cheri Opperman & David Parker

11-12PM EST

Joined by guests, The Dance Complex’s Executive Artistic Director Peter DiMuro, will be chatting all things dance in Boston and beyond. This weeks guests are Cheri Opperman and David Parker.  David Parker is a New York-based choreographer with Boston roots.  His work straddles contemporary and percussive dance forms as it creates a bridge between Boston and New York’s dance worlds.

DC Live: with Papa Sy

West Afro Dance training was created by Papa Sy to help get you in shape through a combination of unique dance moves. Help increase flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular stamina all while giving you a burst of energy! 

FRIDAY 5/29

DC Live: Gentle Morning Jive with Kara Fili

9:30-10AM EST

Join dancer, Kara Fili, as you wake up your body, mind and soul with stretching, strengthening and dancing — all from your chair! Music from the 1930’s – present day will keep us energized throughout our workout which draws from disciplines such as yoga, pilates, tap, jazz, West African, modern and ballet dance. No dance experience necessary. Movements will be demonstrated from a seated position but can be modified to be done while standing. Classes are 30 minutes.

DC Live: ‘Froca Fitness with Sylver Rochelin  

12-1PM EST

 ‘Froca is a celebration of songs and dances from across Africa and the Caribbean. Set to the latest popular African and Caribbean music, ‘Froca draws on movements and dances rooted in deep tradition as well as steps that have gained popularity in recent years. Froca was created by Sylver Rochelin Randrianantenaina, a professional dancer and choreographer from Madagascar. Sylver and a group of his students will perform pieces from a variety of songs danced during ‘Froca classes including steps and rhythms from Madagascar, Ethiopia, Mali, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Congo, Nigeria, Ghana, Trinidad, Jamaica, and more.
