Call for Dancers, Movers, Actors, Singers, Storytellers, Poets- Creatives of all kinds Welcome!
Devising original Dance-Movement Theatre through embodied and creative practice, in a trauma-informed container. Exploring our past, present and future- as well as our lineages and epigenetic inherited patterns, we share our stories- to honor and create new pathways and patterns of thriving.
This workshop will be the jumping off point for the creation of an ensemble to continue developing a full production- for those interested. And for those curious and interested in the stand- alone 3 series process, to develop your own work or just have the experience of sharing powerfully and soul-fully through this movement vocabulary- you are welcome. While it is encouraged to register for all three, you can participate in individual sessions, with the understanding the work will be built on and developed over the three sessions.

At the confluence of decades immersed in study, training, professional and personal experience, Allison developed Emotion-in-Motion as a process for creating her work. Allison is deeply influenced by early artistic years working at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and then doing some training with Double Edge Theatre, dozens of artists in NYC and encountering the work of Pina Bausch. The work is visceral, raw and moves between the highly artistic to the simple and profound.
What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
Emotion in Motion is a process driven technique, exploring where creativity, embodied movement and visual storytelling meet. A movement technique, designed to ignite collaboration and imagination, while exploring and investigating the architecture of our inner landscape. The process focuses on the discovery of the body as it is connected viscerally to our emotions and our stories, both individually and collectively. It gives the individual permission, to travel into concealed spaces, allowing the body and mind to enter safely into an experience of communication, connection and integration. It is a movement language, to express the inexpressible, an approach of research, of yourself and others, discovering what exists in the deepest, truest layers of oneself.
Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…
…I have never felt more alive, connected and in-tune than when creating and working this way!
