| What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?
Classical ballet is a powerful and graceful art form. The training is key to the visual expression of the classical vocabulary. It is also an important training for all dancers to work centering and isolation skills as well as a means to improving power and stamina in all types of dance. |
| What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
Liz Lapuh has a BA in Dance as well as an MFA in choreography from the Boston Conservatory. She was the head of the Dance Program in the Performing Arts Department at UMass, Boston. She has taught ballet at Harvard, MIT and the Boston Conservatory. She has taught ballet here at the Dance Complex for over two decades. |
