FELDENKRAIS + GAGA

What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?

The Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education® is a process of self-improvement through sensory awareness, movement, and gentle manipulation. People benefit from Feldenkrais® who are looking to change a limiting aspect of their current condition and move towards more freedom, ease, and comfort.

Gaga classes are predicated on a deep activation of the body and physical sensations. The instructions are deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation, and rather than turning from one prompt to another, information is layered, building into a multi-sensory, physically challenging experience.

What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?

Eve Boltax is a certified Feldenkrais® practitioner and a graduate of the Boston Feldenkrais Training Program under Aliza Stewart and Tiffany Sankary. She was introduced to Feldenkrais while in graduate school at the Longy School of Music of Bard College. She lives in Jamaica Plain and is a professional violist and Suzuki violin teacher.

Ana Harmon is a dancer and arts advocate currently living in Boston, MA. Ana trained with Boston Ballet’s pre-professional program, before joining dance companies, both in the U.S. and Israel. Ana is the International Project Manager for Gaga Movement Research and is a certified Gaga teacher, sharing Gaga classes at the Boston Conservatory, Harvard University, Boston Ballet, and with communities in Boston and beyond.
