Rueda Switch Workshop with Carol

What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?

Rueda de Casino, also known as Cuban Salsa, is a social dance formation that was born in Cuba in the 1950’s. Each dancer is paired with a leader or follower and positioned to make a circle. The Rueda is called by ‘the Cantante’ (the caller) who will call the steps that the dancers have to make, swapping partners many times as they move around and keep the shape of the circle.

What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?

Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…

She is so passionate about rueda de casino that she collaborates with several groups across the world, attending and helping with the organization of rueda festivals, classes and workshops around the world, and part of an international group that creates and innovates new forms of dancing rueda, expanding the community internationally, as well as blog articles. Because dance is a vital part of Carol’s life and has helped her to regain her voice, now she wants to help others to learn and take advantage of the benefits of dancing, and as a tool to get confident and motivated.
