What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style? What are your credentials to teaching it? |
Tahimy Miranda graduated as a professional dancer and teacher from the Escuela Nacional de Danza Moderna y Folclórica (ENA), La Habana, Cuba. She started her professional career in the Danza Contemporánea de Cuba company and later danced with the MalPaso Dance Company. Now in Boston, Tahimy has been instructing Contemporary, Modern, Flying low Technique and AfroCuban Folklore for over 10 years

What can students expect from this workshop? |
This combination class will focus on Flying Low technique while introducing concepts from the contemporary dance world at large. Flying Low technique focuses on the dancer’s relationship with the floor. You will learn to utilize breathing, mobility, speed, spiral and the release of energy throughout the body in order to activate the relationship between the center and the joints, moving in and out of the ground more efficiently by maintaining a centered state.
