Teaching Artist Dicki Johnson Macy‘s Isadora Duncan Dance Troupe performed at The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Thursday, July 26th, bringing to life images carved into a marble sarcophagus! Check it out these fantastic photographs from the performance!
A unique performance by Dicki Johnson Macy’s dance troupe, The Guardians of Isadora, connected viewers with the ancient Farnese Sarcophagus, recently showcased in a special exhibit at the museum entitled: Life, Death & Revelry. Carved into the sarcophagus are beautiful Grecian maenads and satyrs, which came to life as their dancers mirrored the revelry and emotion of the marble figures. The Guardians of Isadora performed two dance sets as an introduction and conclusion to the curator’s talk about this incredible artifact. Congratulations to Dicki Johnson Macy and The Guardians of Isadora!
