Join The Dance Complex’s Communications Director Kledia Spiro as she interviews Dance Complex community members. Soumya Rajaram is a Bharatanatyam dancer (classical dance from Southern India) who is a popular and active contributor in the Boston area.

DC Live: Modern Jazz with Andy Taylor

Come move and stretch gently. The class focus is balance and gentle strengthening through the Limon and other dance techniques. We begin with a gentle floor warm up and work our way to standing and flowing through basic technique and phrases that are age appropriate and yet challenging.

Fireside Chats with Peter: rerun featuring The Davis Sisters and Sofia Engelman and Em Papineau

Joined by guests, The Dance Complex’s Executive Artistic Director Peter DiMuro, will be chatting all things dance in Boston and beyond. This week Peter will be joined by The Davis Sisters and Sofia Engelman and Em Papineau.
At the threshold of dance, theater, comedy, and installation, The Davis Sisters (Joy Davis and Alexander Davis), create experiences in which performers and audiences are invited to contemplate humanity, enjoy absurdity, and delight in physical and verbal articulation. Through rigorous imagination, improvisation and ridiculousness, they courageously and insightfully dare to create scenarios in which they perform magnified versions of themselves.
Em Papineau and Sofia Engelman live and dance together in Northampton, MA. Over the past 2.5 years, they have performed their collaborative works at Judson Church, Dance Complex, School for Contemporary Dance and Thought, Ponderosa, FRESH Festival, Smith College, EstroGenius Festival, Green Street Studios, and more.

DC Live: West Afro Dance Training with Papa Sy

West Afro Dance training was created by Papa Sy to help get you in shape through a combination of unique dance moves. Help increase flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular, stamina all while giving you a burst of energy!

PERFORMANCES AND CONVERSATIONS coming to you directly from the artists’ own spaces. Styles range from West African Contemporary to Classical Indian, Ballet to Flamenco.
