For decades Bill Parsons has been making photographic images for others. Parsons says “Without directly looking through the lens, I visualize what it will see of the subject and I am able to capture the moment. The picture-taking process becomes a dialogue. Movement, shapes, and faces intrigue me. The architectural aspect of bodies and lines is exciting. I especially like to capture dancers in the air, seemingly in flight. Surprisingly, the dancer is actually moving during the time the picture is being taken and this lends energy and vitality to the image.”

When attending classes and performances at The Dance Complex between March 23rd and April 13th, visitors will have the opportunity to observe and engage with Parsons’ photographs, hung in Studio 7. The pictures include dance photos, portraits, landscapes, aerial work, and teddy bears and have been taken between 1968 and 2018.
